United Methodist Women
"Inspired by the example of Jesus and empowered by God’s love for us, we
all carry out our ministry, both individually and together with others."
Who does our ministry?
Jesus does it! Often people say, we are doing the ministry of the Lord. We are ministers. Yes, that is true, but more so, we need to recognize Christ´s leadership and initiative in the church.Because
he has done it first and doing it now, we can do it. Christ is doing it with,
in and through us. Christ is the Lord of my life and so is our church. He is the leader and
the shepherd. The Pastor is a sheep dog who drives sheep to the Lord.
That is my job, leading people to the Lord. When
the Lord does it, we find ministry is fun and yielding fruits and no one can
stop us. When we try to do it, we are burnt out and it is endless hard work.Admit
it, we can´t do it. I can´t! Now, trust and rely on the Lord and pick up your
spirit. With the Lord, we are an invincible team!
You and I, can only be a team in this Spirit and I can be a proper brother
to you. In this spirit of teamwork only, can we properly be a church, many
parts in one body.It
is a privilege to be on this team, with you in this spirit.
Thank you for your visit. Welcome to Grace Land.
Our Youth Ministry at Grace is a natural passage from our Children Ministry guiding them to become young adults, groomed by the teachings from the bible and their love and appreciation of the Lord and Jesus Christ. This ministry introduces them to fellowship with other youth organizations and to minister outside of our community through advocacy, training and leadership development. Our Youth are a big part of Grace's church life, especially their leadership in our Fourth Sunday Services.
The mission of the United Methodist Men is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will. The United Methodist Men as a ministry was started in 1908. The Men of Grace open their hearts accepting all who wants to join in the mission of fellowship, discipleship, ministry and worship. Join us on the fourth Saturday of every month at 10:00 am for our Prayer Breakfast and Witness. We also have other yearly events which can be found on our Calendar Page
on this site.
United Methodist Women
United Methodist Women is a membership organization comprising close to
1-million members across the United States. Women are invited to be
involved in leadership at the local, district, conference, jurisdiction
or national level. United Methodist Women provides an opportunity for women
of all ages to learn more about worldwide missions while making friendships
in small group and large group settings. First begun at Grace U.M.C. in 1961 as The Women's Christian Society (W.C.S). Then in 1968 the Society changed its name to The United Methodist Women (U.M.W.). We meet on the Second Sunday of every month after our Sunday Worship Service.
God's love comes in many forms and those who have experienced that love want to share it with others. This ministry serves to connect those who have been blessed by God with those who needs God's blessing. Through the years Grace United Methodist Church has been of service not only to its congregation but has also actively participated in addressing the social needs of the wider community. Some of the Outreach programs are; the operation of a Thrift Shop at the church, Thanksgiving Dinner for the homeless, Visits with the sick and shut-ins.
If there has been one notable distinction of Methodism all through the years, it has been the emphasis on singing. "From the very beginning, both John and Charles Wesley did all in
their power to make hymn singing a natural expression of the ordinary worshipper
instead of a practiced art of the few." At Grace we follow the Wesley's principles of singing to the Lord. We bring a joyful noise in our services and our events. At Grace we have incorporated Praise and Worship along with Hymn singing to rejoice
our beliefs in and dedication to God and his son, Jesus Christ. Our Praise
and Worship team, the Oaks of Righteousness, sing to the Lord before our Sunday services at 10:00am. Our choirs continue the celebration thru singing during the Sunday 10:30 services. Join us.
Oaks of Righteousness
The purpose of this ministry is to know God
and to witness the love of God to others. Our primary goal is to empower all women to go forth operating at a level
of excellence through the instruction of God’s Word. Join us as we minister unto the women through regular monthly Prayer Breakfast and Witness, held on the third Saturday of every month at 10:00am, and our annual Women’s Day Celebration, with dynamic speakers, held the last Sunday in June. See our Calendar Page. Nestled between these events are women who through their time, talents,
and gifts are witnessing to others about God's love. We encourage each
other, we laugh, and sometimes cry, but we always leave strenghtened by
the Word of the Lord.
At Grace, we feed the Spiritual soul of any young person, ages 2-11, who shall enter our doors, enhancing their transition to a fulfilling young adult life, by having them grow up in the presence of God. Our children come in for Sunday School at 9:00 am, where they work from age-based curriculum, filled with activities, lessons,
questions and answers and discussion sessions based on Bible Studies. The
children participate in the Sunday Services and also have "Children's
Moment", when they congregate at the altar to hear the Scripture lessons
broken down to their level of understanding, by the Pastor, Minister in
Training, Lay Speaker, or Lay Leader. The children sing to the Lord on
the third Sunday of the month during Sunday services. This Ministry continues
to grow, not only in numbers, but in their desire to learn more about God
and ways to serve him.
At Grace, we provide a friendly presence for our guests and visitors; from our Greeters and Ushers, who extent a word of welcome and guidance during our Sunday Worship Services and special events, to our Food Presenters. The Greek word for hospitality means "lover of strangers." In ancient cultures it was considered rude not to offer food and shelter
to travelers and strangers. As God's children, we are still called to that
task of offering food and shelter—shelter from life's storms and trials,
acceptance and comfort—and spiritual nourishment, food that feeds the soul
"Taste and see that the Lord is good..." Psalm 34:8. The Hospitality Ministry of Grace United Methodist Church is an opportunity to transform strangers into friends. Please join us in this ministry
